Given our focus on today’s
challenges and tomorrow’s
inventions, is it smart to spend
time reflecting on the past? Not
surprisingly, my answer is “yes.” At
Historic Spanish Point, I’ve seen
how tales of the Webb family or Mrs.
Potter Palmer have helped residents
of our community understand how it
came to be. Stories of pioneer and
Palmer successes and failures
entertain our visitors and make
locals and tourists alike think
about their own roots.
Costumed “living history” interpreters who
cleverly stay in character at Historic
Spanish Point as Bertha Palmer, John Webb,
Lizzie and Frank Guptill, and other intrepid
settlers can provide you and your guests
with a uniquely educational and entertaining
look at our past.
