The museum is open 9am to 5pm Monday-Saturday, noon to 5pm Sunday

Admission is required to enter the museum site.

Due to the size of the outdoor museum, no tickets are issued after 4:00pm

The gates close promptly at 5:00pm

 

The Visitors Center is open free of charge and includes an Orientation Theatre and Museum Store.

Historic Spanish Point Members are admitted free, but are requested to stop by the Visitors Center to be issued Parking Passes.

Guests attending a private event like a Wedding or Meeting are also admitted for free and do not have to stop by the Visitors Center.

 

 

If the museum closes due to inclement weather, no refunds will be given, so plan your trip accordingly.

 

More Information:

  • Historic Spanish Point is primarily an outdoor museum with 30-acres of nature trails. Appropriate shoes and clothing should be worn. Care should be taken when walking. Please allow about two hours.

  • Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome, but keep in mind that some of our paths are made of crushed shell, so sturdy wheels are advised. [Historic Spanish Point does not rent either.]

  • Historic Spanish Point is a smoke free environment.

  • Pets are not allowed except for service dogs, or on Pups at the Point days.

  • Please keep to the designated paths.

  • Picnic tables are available to bring a lunch and enjoy the surrounding beauty of our gardens and natural environment.

  • If museum buildings are open to self-guided tours. Please show respect to the objects on display.

  • Historic Spanish Point is an environmental museum as well as an archaeological site so please take only photos and leave only footprints.

TOURS:

 

Docent-Guided Tours: (no additional charge)  Allow at least two hours for a tour.  {Please call ahead on the day you plan to visit to see what tour times are offered on that day. 941-966-5214}

 

Self-Guided: (no additional charge)

Until 4:00 P.M. Our brochure and map make self touring easy. There is a lot to see and do, and you can go at your own pace.  

 

Docent-Guided Tram Tours: 

For visitors who can't easily walk the mile long tour, a tram tour is available by reservation. There is still some moderate walking involved, and passengers must be able to climb on and off at certain points of the tour as needed. It is not recommended for people in wheelchairs. Our paths can accommodate most sturdy wheelchairs and electric carts.

Monday - Friday  by reservation at least two days in advance for Docent scheduling purposes. Seven passengers per tram only. The cost is regular admission plus $3.00.  A Private Tram Tour may be arranged for admission plus a flat fee of $15.00. No Tram Tours on Saturday or Sunday unless special arrangements are made in advance. Call 941-966-5214 to make reservations.

Commercial Photographers, Videographers, and all Media, must contact the Marketing Coordinator prior to site access. There may be a charge for images used for profit.
