Meet the Authors and Editors of A Thinking Person’s Guide to America’s National Parks

Join us December 8 at Historic Spanish Point to listen and learn from two of the authors and editors of A Thinking Person’s Guide to America’s National Parks–just hailed in the Wall Street Journal as a best pick for 2016.

Hear first-hand perspectives about iconic western national parks, urban parks, historic sites & cultural areas from Rolf Diamant and Nora Mitchell, national leaders in park and cultural landscapes and recent retirees of the National Parks Service.

Nora Mitchell is a well-known author on cultural landscapes and founding director of the NPS Stewardship Institute and the Olmsted Center for Landscape Preservation.

Rolf Diamant is an author and historian, as well as former NPS superintendent of the Frederick Law Olmsted NHS and the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller NHP and past president of the George Wright Society.

The pair will share images and insights from this important book, including perspectives on our national park system, and a discussion on the state of our national parks going into the 21st century.
